LG V30 Release Date Set Just Ahead of IFA 2017

The wait for the next flagship of LG's 'V' series will soon be over as the LG V30 release date is near. The LG V30 is set to launch at 9 AM CST on August 31, just a few hours before this year's IFA kicks off. The Internationale Funkausstellung or IFA is held every year in Berlin and is one of the world's oldest and largest technological shows. The new device has been in the news lately for its well-documented list of features.

LG V30 Release Date

The South Korean giant has sent out press invites which show a phone's silhouette making a reflection of the letter 'V,' not too subtle a hint to the 'V' series. While we do know that something is happening on that day, LG has not made anything official. However, given the 'Save The Day' press release and the fact that the teaser image itself is in a 2:1 aspect ratio, just like the LG V30's primary display, it is more than likely that the V30 will launch on that day.

The upcoming device will be LG's first device with an OLED display, as all previous devices had LCD displays. It will also have a dual camera design, which will be different from the dual camera setup we see on the LG G6, the flagship of the 'G' series.

The LG V30 will, however, have some similarities with the LG G6, including the fact that it will have the same FullVision Display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a display resolution of 2880x1440. Also, the device will have other advanced features like wireless charging and improved Quad DAC. Quad DAC is a technology which improves the audio quality of the device and was appreciated in the LG G6 as well.

Underneath the new LG flagship will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, one of the most powerful and energy efficient chipsets currently available. Expect 4GB of RAM and at least one variant with 64GB of native storage, which will be expandable. Since the LG G6 carried the now-dated Snapdragon 821 SoC, the new LG V30 will be an improvement. It'll be interesting to see if the device runs Android 8.0 out-of-the-box. Are you excited about the LG V30 release date as well? Let us know in the comments section below.
